Ned was born March 7, 1921, in Escalante, Utah, to Peter and Johanna Roundy Barker. He graduated from Richfield High School.
He married Lucille Andersen in Rexburg, Idaho, on July 3, 1948. She died Aug. 11, 2003.
Mr. Barker lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, before moving to Eugene in 1946. He served in the Navy in the Pacific from 1942 to 1945.
He worked as a building contractor in Eugene. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, sports and University of Oregon athletics. Barker also was active at his church.
Survivors include three sons, Bryce of Bellevue, Wash., Brent of Eugene and Brad of Dakar, Senegal; six grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
Burial at Lane Memorial Gardens. Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Eugene was in charge of arrangements.
