Anna Elizabeth Powell Timmerman Tucker of Dawson Died Tuesday, October 14, 2003, at Palmyra Medical Centers in Albany.

Graveside service will be held at 4 pm Thursday at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson with the Rev. Tommy McDonald and the Rev. Wyman Richardson officiating the service.

Mrs. Anna Tucker, was born April 1, 1914, in Moultrie, where she received her education.

She was the daughter of the late A.C. Powell Sr. and Mary Edna Gilchrist Powell.

Mrs. Tucker moved to Bradenton, FL, with her aunt, Mattie Combs where she met her husband, C.W. Timmerman of Dawson and married April 21, 1935. Then they moved to Oneca, FL, where their son, W.L. (Buddy) Timmerman was born. The couple returned to Terrell County in 1936, and resided until Mr. Timmerman's death in 1972.

Mrs. Tucker was employed by Raines & Locke until her late husband's death in 1977.

She was a house parent at Warm Springs Rehabilitation Center where she met her husband, Alton Tucker of Opelika, AL.

Mrs. Tucker was very active in the late 1940's and 1950's as an advisor for the Terrell County 4-H Clubs. She was an officer for the Home Demonstrations Council for the State of Georgia in 1947-1948. She was secretary treasurer and later state president.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Tucker; six brothers, 4 sisters and one grandson.

Survivors include one son, Buddy Timmerman of Dawson; one daughter, Laura Jane Home of Dawson in which Mrs. Tucker made her home for seven and a half years. One sister, Beth Cross of Lakeland.
