William H. Senft
JEFFERSON – William H. Senft, 83, of Jefferson, died Tuesday evening at Hanover General Hospital. He was the husband of Lottie A. (Albright) Senft, to whom he was married for 61 years.
The service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson. Burial will be in St. Jacob's (Stone) Union Cemetery in Brodbecks. Viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Sauter-Irwin Funeral Home, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Senft was born July 6, 1917, in Codorus Township. He was the son of the late Harry and Effie (Krebs) Senft.
He was a lifelong farmer in the Jefferson area and an employee of Jefferson Borough for more than 20 years.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Sunday school in Jefferson; chairman of the Jefferson Carnival for more than 40 years; a member of Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company, where he was treasurer for 39 years; a member of the York County Firefighters Association; president of Jefferson Baseball Association; a charter member of Jefferson Sportsmen's Club; and a member of Jefferson Brothers of the Brush, Jefferson Chapter 3699 American Association of Retired Persons, Hanover Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 227, Triangle Hunting Club in Lycoming County and Western York County Democratic Club. He was a member of Brodbecks Band from age 16 until the present.
Mr. Senft also leaves two sons, Harry R. Senft of Harrisburg and Richard E. Senft of Jefferson; a daughter, Loretta E. Lippy of Seven Valleys; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, the Rev. Kenneth C. Senft of Gettysburg; and two sisters, Catherine Stauffer and Lucreta Rebert, both of Jefferson.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Allan S. Wysocki.
