John Towery, a well-known farmer of the eastern part of the county, died Tuesday of last week at his home four miles east of Deanwood. Mr. Towery's death was not unexpected as he had been ill of dropsy for more than a year.
Mr. Towery is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sue Simpson Towery, three sons, Owen, Sam, and Elgin, children of Mr. Towery and his first wife, Mrs. Nannie Spence Towery, a brother, J. Buck Towery of Webster County.
