Mike Whitmire, 67, of Strawberry, died Friday, August 24, 2012 at White River Medical Center.

Born on Monday, March 5, 1945 in Dowdy, Arkansas, he was the son of V. H. Whitmire and Velma (Long) Whitmire. He was a self-employed farmer and welder taking pride in the many special use trailers her built. On the farm, he looked forward every year to hay cutting time. He was a member of the Strawberry Church of Christ and would read and study his Bible daily.
