James Lowell Adams, 59, R.R. 1, Wails Addition, died late Sunday at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, after an extended illness. He lived most of his life in Walker and Rushville Townships, and graduated from Manilla High School. He farmed until illness forced his retirement in October, 1975.

Born August 19, 1917, in Walker Township, he was the son or Willie and Mary Hiner Adams. Mr. Adams was a member of the Rushville Church of Christ, Rushville Farm Bureau, and a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army under General Patton.

On March 31, 1945, he married Emily Alberta Cameron who survives. Other survivors are step-mother, Mrs. Nellie Adams, Connersville; three sons, Michael Terry Adams, near Saratoga Springs, New York; Stephen Lowell Adams, R.R. 1, Arlington; and James Ronald Adams, at home, daughter, Deborah Louise Adams, at home; brother, Wayne Adams. R.R. 5, Rushville; sister, Mrs. Hugh (Frances) Morgan, Mays, a granddaughter, Michelle Renee Adams, New York; and aunt, Mrs. Dan (Florence) Hughes, Rushville.

A sister, Mrs. Irma Geise, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 10 a.m. at Moster and Sons Mortuary with Rev. Robert D. Taylor officiating. Burial follow at Arlington East Hill. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
