Gladys Stephens
MARIETTA -- Gladys Stephens, 81, of Valley Apartments died Thursday evening (Nov. 4, 1993) at her home.
She was born Feb. 8, 1912, at Dart to Harmon and Mae Patterson Henning. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1929 and later graduated from Marietta Commercial College. She had been employed by the A.H. Smith and Son Concrete Co. and later by CCC Trucking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Stephens, whom she had married March 29, 1935; her parents; and one sister, Mrs. Gilbert (Alda) Cullen.
Mrs. Stephens is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Margie) Hipp of Marietta, Ga., and Mrs. Claude (Marie) Jaycox of Long Island, N.Y.; one sister, Mrs. Richard (Twila) Smith of Marietta; and one grandson, Eric Hipp of Marietta, Ga.
No calling house will be observed. Private graveside services will be conducted. McClure-Schafer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
