Twila Moray Smith, 81, of 1222 Cisler Drive, Marietta, died at her residence Thursday (Aug. 18, 2005).
She was born Nov. 9, 1923, in Dart, Ohio, to Harmon H. and Mae Patterson Henning. Twila graduated from Marietta High School in 1941 and attended the Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a member of the Putnam Congregational Church and the Marietta Welfare League.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard H. Smith; one daughter, Gae M. Leachman (Jim) of Jonesboro, Ga.; two sons, John H. Smith (Betsy) of Proctorville, Ohio, and Grady W. Smith (Sue) of Marietta; five granddaughters; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Gladys Stephens and Alda Cullen.
Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Putnam Congregational Church with the Revs. David and Barbara Jackson officiating. Family will be greeting friends following the services at the church.
Memorial contributions are preferred to The Putnam Congregational Church, 707 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, Ohio 45750 or to the charity of the donors choice in Twila's memory.
