"Rome -- Mrs. Mary E. Tedd, 78, died unexpectedly Mar. 25, 1951, at the home of her son, Arthur C. Tedd, 1021 N. James. She was born in Cornwall, England, March 9, 1872, a daughter of Francis J. and Elizabeth Davies Barnicoat. She came with her mother to Rome in the Summer of 1888 to join her father and brothers who had preceded them. On Feb. 20, 1890, she was married here to John W. Tedd by the Rev. Albert E. Place. Mr. Place was a brother-in-law of Mr. Tedd. After the death of her husband in March, 1910, she entered the Rome Infirmary School of Nursing. After graduating she practiced as a registered nurse on private cases. She discontinued practice a few years ago. She was a member of the Rome Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Rome Infirmary Nurses Alumni Association, the Ladies of the Maccabees, and a former member of Holly Chapter OES. Survivors in addition to her son, Arthur, are a brother William H. Barnicoat, Rome, and a sister, Mrs. John Mead, Boston, Mass., two grandchildren, Arthur C. Tedd, Jr., of University of Pennsylvania Dental College, and Mrs. Thomas L. Kehoe, Rome, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her son, Arthur, was the last of a family of four children. Another son, Earl C., died Jan. 30. The funeral will be from the home of her son Wednesday at 2 with the Rev. D. E. Klamm officiating.
