Bennington Oliver "Stoney" Stonecypher, Jr. and Alma Ruth "Bug" Stonecypher, of South Center Road, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 28, 2012. Visitation will be held at Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 6:OO-8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Darlington Presbyterian Church at 11:00 A.M., directed by Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home.

"Stoney" was born in Durham, North Carolina and was the son of the late Rose Marie Cook and Bennington Oliver Stonecypher. He graduated from St. John�s High School in Darlington in 1956 and attended Coker College in Hartsville. He retired in January 1999 from Sonoco after 40 years of service. Immediately after retiring, he started working for Sonoco�s Mail Room. He served with the Mail Room from 1999 until his death. He was also a dedicated member of the Swift Creek Fire Department since its onset where he was named Fireman of the Year numerous times.

"Bug" was born in Darlington, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Pearl Belle Buchanan Patterson and George Franklin Patterson, Sr. She graduated in the top ten of her class at St. John�s High School, Darlington, in 1956 and from Lander College, Greenwood, in 1958.

They were members of Lakeview Baptist Church, Hartsville, South Carolina, and were faithfully married for 54 years.

They are survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Beth (Marion Scott) Beasley of Hartsville; a son, Bennington Oliver "Ben" Stonecypher, III of Williamsport, Pennsylvania; and four grandchildren: Jarrett Scott Beasley, Jacob Stone Beasley, Jordan Elizabeth Beasley and Baily O�Ryan Stonecypher, all of Hartsville. �Bug� is survived by one sister, Millie Sue P. Lewis of Florence; two sister-in-laws, Olivette A. Patterson of Darlington and Nellie O. Patterson of Edmond, Oklahoma and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, K. T. "Jake" Patterson and George Franklin Patterson, Jr.; and one sister, Louise "Weezie" P. Miles.
