Fleeta Mae Laughlin was born on November 28, 1932 in Bixby, Oklahoma to Sam Walkup and Molly (Cole) Walkup. She passed from this life on August 22, 2012 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years, 8 months & 25 days.
Fleeta had lived in this area virtually all of her life. She worked over the years as a cafeteria worker for Bixby Public Schools, at the Grace Living Center Nursing Home in Jenks and for the Leonard Mountain Trading Company. She will be warmly remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Laughlin on July 27, 2002 as well as by 2 children; Johnny Laughlin and Debbie Laughlin and 6 siblings; Buel Rough, Vinita Clay, Lucille Clay, Ruby Shanks, Billy Walkup and Betty Martin.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Pam Smith and husband Greg, of Mannford & Becky Richards of Tulsa, 2 sons; Sam Laughlin of Jenks & Steve Laughlin of Stone Bluff, 1 sister; Beverly Thomas and husband Claude, of Hectorville, 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
