Amanda Fisher Natton Bittner
August 6, 1902:

Amanda was born in Clark County, Kentucky, the daughter of Albert Henry and Sythi Dawson Fisher, pioneers who came to Callaway County from Clark County Kentucky. Her mother, Sythi, was a full blooded Cherokee.

Amanda moved to Nine Mile Prairie, Callaway County Missouri. with her family between 1840 and 1845.

She married Hugh Natton and had two daughters, Martha F. and Mary A. who both later married Breckenridges, Martha to JT and Mary to Milton. Mary died at a young age.

Hugh proceeded her in death and she later married William L. Bittner on August 16, 1864. They raised a grandson, Walter Breckenridge.

It is thought that Amanda also raised a nephew, Wilfred Robinson. Wilford was the son of Amanda's sister, Mary Fisher, who married William S. Robertson dated 1861. Little is known about Mary or George, Amanda's brother.

Census 1870:
Mary Robertson, living with Sitha Fisher, in Nine Mile Prairie. While Wilford was born January 1870, he is not listed on the census.

In 1880, Wilford is living with Mary's sister, Amanda, and Mary is no longer listed on the census.

Mary's husband appears in the 1870 Census, hiring an Abram Webber, in Nine Mile Prairie. Next listing for him is in California state and he died in Washington stste.

Thought is that Mary died between 1870 and 1880 and her son was raised by Amanda. Things were very chaotic in Missouri after the Civil War and lots of records are missing.

Amanda and William farmed for a few years, then opened a grocery buisness in Calwood, Missouri in March 1882. They were prominent merchants in Callaway CO.

Amanda and William were members of the M.E. Church south of Calwood and were both highly esteemed neighbors and aquantences.
