Una May was the daughter of the late James Nelson and Dora Lou Ila (Dailey) Nelson of Clay County, North Carolina. She and her husband, Reuben Matheson Ledford had been residents of Canton, Ohio for the past 45 years. In the early 1950's the family moved to Canton, Ohio, where Reuben began a career working in several industrial factories, including the Burger Division of Republic Steel, the Macomber Company, and the euclid Division of General Motors (in Hudson, Ohio). Euclid later became known as Terex. Una Mae was a member of the Pentecostal Temple Church; where she served as a youth worker, a member of the Pentacostal Ladies' Auxiliary and a former teacher's aide at the Clardon Grade School. Una Mae and Reuben's children were: The Rev. Dr. Milton and spouse Lora Ledford of Woaster, Ohio; Kevin and spouse Sharon Ledford of Marion, Ohio; and Timmy Ledford of the home. Una May died at the age of 66. Funeral services were held December 21, 1996 at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home, with Roy L., Bannister and Rev. Ron Howard, officiating. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Una Mae Ledford Amyliodoisis Fund, c/o The Canton Pentacostal Temple or to the Hospice Foundation.
