Edward H. Radensleben, son of Deitrich Radensleben and his wife Mary Neitfeld. He was born in Saunders County, Nebraska on October 3, 1881. he was baptised and confirmed on April 1, 1895 in the Lutheran Church. he spent the first 31 years of his life in the community where he was born, went to school there and married Anna Marie Ehlers February 12, 1901 and farmed in that area until 1912 when he moved his family to Spencer, South Dakota. He farmed in various places in Hanson and McCook Counties. This marriage was blessed with 4 children. One of these, Mable, preceded him in death May 1, 1961. his wife Anna deceased in November 1932. December 2, 1934, he married Mrs. Gertrude Peters. No children were born to this union. They lived in Alexandria in their home in the north east part of the city since 1943. Although the deceased enjoyed robust health most of the time, hospitalization off and on was necessary during the past two years. The final illness set in on July 9. He was taken to the hospital July 13 and passed away July 15 at 4:45 am at the age of 83 years, 9 months, and 13 days. Surviving are his widow and the following children from his first marriage; Emil of Alexandria, George of Fulton, Hattie (Mrs Gilmore Kelley), of Fulton; one sister Emma, (Mrs. Albert Lienemann) of Spencer, 8 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 4 step children. Funeral services were held at St. Martin Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 17, 1965, with Rev. W,A, Bunkowske officiating.... Casket bears were 5 grandsons: Raymond Radensleben, Clarence Dietzel, Elroy Kelly, Kenneth Maskestad, Charles Zoss and one nephew, Archie Radensleben. Honorary bears were Emerson Hill, Prentis Hill, Charley McMaster, Clarence Kewley, George Schraider, Donald Cheeseman. Those who attended the funeral from father away were: Mrs. and Mrs. Albert Lienemann, Ocheydan, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Mark (Joyce) Derby, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Peters, South St. Paul, Minn; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Maakestad, Sturgis, South Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Radensleben, Deadwood, South Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Krueger and daughater, Hartley, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Toot Boesel, Weeping Waters, Nebraska; and many friends and relatives from Mitchell and Spencer, Fulton, and Alexandria.
