Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, 100 years young, passed away on Sunday, August 19th with family members at her side.

She was born on April 12, 1912, to Stephen Hales Fotheringham and Elizabeth Woodbury in Milford, Utah.

Growing up she lived in Draper, Salt Lake City and Murray, Utah. Leah graduated from LDS High School in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah. While participating in several plays she met and fell in love with Clifford Wayne Healy. They were married on March 11, 1935, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Leah and Wayne made their home in Ogden where they raised their successful family. He passed away July 19, 1994.

Leah was a beautiful, refined "classy lady" and always looked much younger than her actual years.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many different positions, including Relief Society President, Stake Speech and Drama Director, and Primary and Gospel Doctrine teacher. She and her husband served as ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple, where they made many dear and lasting friendships. She loved the Lord and was always willing to serve where she was needed.

Leah was a "stay at home mother" until her children were older and were in school. Her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls were legendary.
She loved to travel with her husband and dear friends to Metropolitan Life Insurance conventions in San Francisco and Los Angeles. She also enjoyed trips with her family to Canada, Europe, Scotland and England. On her 99th birthday her children took her on a Mexican Riviera Cruise where she went parasailing to the amazement of her family and the cheers of hundreds of spectators on the beach. When her daughters cautioned her of the possible danger her response was, "What Have I Got To Lose!"

Leah cherished all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was dearly loved by all of them. She wrote beautiful poetry for them.

She is survived by four children, Timothy Wayne Healy (Collette), Pleasant View; Sandra Lee Heer (Dan), Mission Viejo, California; Diane Elizabeth DeVries (Ron), Harrisville, Utah; and Marcia Jan Denham (Paul), Littleton, Colorado; 27 grandchildren and 65 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Wayne Healy; her son, Michael John Healy (Jan); her parents and five brothers and sisters.

The family expresses their deep appreciation for the excellent care provided by Legacy House of South Ogden and Caregivers Network Hospice.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25th at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard in Ogden. There will be a viewing on Friday, August 24th from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
