Esther Persons rites Thursday - East Jordan- Services for Mrs. Esther E. Persons, 75, who died Tuesday at Little Traverse Hospital where she had been a patient for one week, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Watson Funeral Home. Tev Dan Minor, of the East Jordan United Methodist Church, will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The former Esther Tiggott was born in Charlevoix county November 18, 1898. She married Lyle G. Persons june 20, 1917 at Charlevoix and the couple made their home in East Jordan. He preceeded her in death December 2, 1949.
Mrs. Persons was a member of the United Methodist Church in East Jordan.
Survivors include three sons, James, of California, Glenn of Columbus, Ohio and Samuel of Grand Rapids; one daughter, Mrs. William (Alice) Taylor, of Cedar Springs; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and six sisters, Mrs. Margurerite Farmer, of East Jordan, Mrs. Fred Greer, of Washington, Mrs. Fred Kent, of Prudenville. Mrs. Bernice Brown, of Augusta, Ga. and Mrs. Omar McKinnon and Mrs. Millard Marshall, of Muskegon.
