William H. Teel, 66, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday from injuries suffered when an automobile struck him Saturday night. Teel suffered a fractured skull and numerous bruises, attendants at a local sanitarium, where he died, said Tuesday.
Teel was struck by an auto driven by Edward DeBuis of 1918 West Cannon Avenue. Witnesses say DuBuis rendered all possible aid after Teel was injured.
The accident which resulted in Teel's death happened in front of his home, 1305 North Henderson Street. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the residence with Rev. J. N. Cooper, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Teel was a bookkeeper for Teel-Penry & Co. lumber dealers at 901-5 Baltimore Street. S. Scott Teel, half owner of the company, is a son of the deceased. Teel had been a resident of Fort Worth 11 years. He was a native Texan.
He came here from Bowie. He formerly lived in Henrietta also, where he held the office of county treasurer of Clay County. Teel was born and reared near McKinney.
Teel is survived by his widow, Mrs. Pauline Teel, who is prominent in Union Gospel Mission work; three sons, S. Scott, John B. and James C. Teel; and two daughters, Mrs. H. H. Webb and Sue Alice Teel, all of Fort Worth; one other son, W. Granville Teel of Dallas, and two other daughters, Mrs. J. C. Frazier, Ponca City, Okla., and Mrs. D. H. Jones of Lubbock; two brothers, James Teel of Denton, and John Teel of McKinney; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Brownlee, Alvarado, and Mrs. Ann Peters, Tolar; and three grandchildren.
