Mary Margaret and John Baker placed a monument in this cemetery for two of their children who died as infants. A daughter named Sarah (1868-1878), died shortly before her tenth birthday. A son, Oliver, is buried in Mt. Carmel, as well. The 1900 U.S. Census recorded Mary as giving birth to seven children, but that only three still lived. The living childrens' names were not listed in that census.*
