Bessie Lee Smith passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 in Mount Pleasant, Texas. She was born August 19, 1932 in Friendship, Tennesee the daughter of William Hapel and Bessie Frances (Mobley) Parrish.
Bessie worked as a school secretary and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant.
She is survived by her husband Willie Ray Smith of Mount Pleasant, Texas; a son, Tony Smith of Delta Junction, Alaska; her grandchildren, Jeremy and Andrea Smith, Brant Smith, Casey & Clare Smith all of Alaska, one great grandchild Sienna Smith; a sister, Margarett Goss of Fort Worth; sister-in-laws, Winona Parrish and Mamie Rich; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Amy Loudelle Onley, Orene Jones, Louise Banks and Sarah Lee; brothers, Rev. William Nelson Parrish, Elgie Parrish and Billy Parrish.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Chapel. Burial will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery. The family will recieve friends 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
