Mullins, John, 80, of Columbus, Ga., formerly of St. Petersburg, died Friday (Oct. 31, 2003) at Columbus Hospice House. Born in Jenkins, Ky., he moved to Columbus from St. Petersburg in May 2003.

He was the retired owner and operator of John Mullins Painting and Decorating. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He attended Cincinnati Bible College and was a trustee at Atlanta Christian College in East Point, Ga., for 33 years.

Survivors include his wife, Florence Marie Beekman Mullins; three daughters, Barbara Mize, Jefferson, Ga., Jeanette Tudor, Columbus, and Nancy Simkins, Nokomis; three sons, John Timothy Mullins, Lakeland, Joey Mullins, Carrollton, Ga., and Tom Mullins, Pittsboro, Ind.; two brothers, Clarence and Zeke, both of Portsmouth, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
