EARCEL "ZEKE" MULLINS finished his earthly life and entered God's eternal life, January 2l, 2015. He was born September 14, 1921, the seventh of eight children born to John David Mullins and Millie "Minnie" Alma Clay Mullins.

He worked 51 years in local radio, retiring at the grand old age of 87. He was a four-year veteran of WWII and was proud of being able to serve his country. He was a member of Central Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers, Clarence, Orville, William, Coby, John, an infant brother, Charles; and one sister, Iva Mae Jergens.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Daphene Liles Mullins, whom he married June 25, 1947; five children; ten grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-granddaughter.

His five children are William Earcel Mullins and wife Shelby of Athens, Ohio, Larry Dale Mullins and best friend Mary Clark of Portsmouth, Ohio, Michael Scot Mullins and wife Kelly of Avon Park, Florida, daughter, Judy Swanson and husband Charles of Portsmouth, and Lisa Potts and husband Richard of Portsmouth.

Grandchildren include Bill's three sons, Jonah Mullins and wife Brandi of Athens, Gaelen Mullins of New York City and Dylan Mullins of Athens; Larry's son, Cody Mullins and wife Whitney of Noblesville, Indiana, Chelsey Mullins of Portsmouth, Cailey Mullins at the University of Indiana; Scot's daughter, Rachel of Dayton, Ohio; Judy's daughter, Michelle Hickman of New Boston and son, Brian Hickman and wife, Brenda of Portsmouth; Lisa's daughter, Ebbie; step-grandsons, Raymond Swanson of Portsmouth and Scott Swanson and wife, Ylenia of Ft. St. Lucie, Florida; great-grandchildren, Bradleigh Aeh, Liam Mullins, Isabella Mullins, Madison Hickman, Morgan Hickman, Katelyn Flannery, Devan Oppy and Aviawna Oppy; step-great-grandchildren, Christopher Horsley, Brittney Williams and husband, Ronnie, Olivia Modrzakowski and Matteo Bauer; and one step-great-great-granddaughter, Scarlett Williams.

There will be a public celebration of Zeke's life at Central Church of Christ, Saturday, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2015 at Central Church of Christ, with Brother Dennis Dawes officiating. Burial will be at Stone Cemetery in Laurel, Kentucky, with graveside military rites conducted by the Honor Detail of James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Visitation will be Sunday, 12 to 2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth and also one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Church of Christ, 1211 Grandview Avenue, Portsmouth, Ohio, 45662.

Zeke was a loving husband, father and grandfather. We will miss him dearly. He is at rest in God's hands.
