Mrs. Alta May Mentzer, wife of Anson Mentzer, well-known farmer, West Pennsboro township, Carlisle, R.D. 9, died in Carlisle Hospital at 10:10 o'clock Sunday night. She underwent an operation for hernia Sunday morning. She had been ill since Thursday. Mrs. Mentzer was 60 years old. She was a loving wife and mother and her death comes as a great shock to the family.
She was a member of the Mennonite church of Newville.
In addition to her husband she Is survived by these children: Lester, at home; Mrs. Herman Myers, of Boiling Springs, and Mrs. George Brownawell, Floyd and Herman, all of Carlisle,; R. D. 9. William Clay, of Delaware, is her brother.
Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30. Further services at the Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. The body will be placed in the mausoleum in Westminster cemetery (sic).

Funeral services for Mrs. Anson Mentzer, West Pennsboro township, will be held tomorrow. At 1:30 there will be a brief service at the residence, to be followed by a service at 2 o'clock in the Plainfield Lutheran church (sic). The remains will be placed in the mausoleum in Westminster cemetery (sic).
