He was the son of Elias Christopher MADDY and Amanda Caroline THOMPSON MADDY. He married #1 Della H. FOSTER.
Married Della H Foster on Aug 26, 1896 in Summers Co, WV. Children were Lillie Belle & Mary Evelyn.

His second marriage was to Lucinda Griffith on Sept 24, 1903 in Beckley, Raleigh, WV. Children were (dau) Glemma Lynn; Wetzel Boyd (W. B.); Louise Caroline & Mildred Mary.

Eldridge Maddy, aged 32, a native of Monroe, but for some time a resident of Raleigh county, died suddenly on Saturday with heart disease.
He was buried at Shady on Sunday the Odd Fellows officiating. Rev Patterson of the Presbyterian church conducted the service.
Mr Maddy left a widow, who was a Miss Griffith, and four children. His father and brother from Monroe county attended the funeral.
The deceased was employed as a blacksmith for the Raleigh Coal & Coke company, and was very popular. The Messenger extends its sympathy to the bereaved relatives on the early death of this promising young man.
