Kyle Dallas Maddy, of Marie, was killed at Stone, Ky, Friday night, March 31st, 1916, while cutting coal with a machine. His remains were brought to New Hope and laid to rest on Monday, April 3rd.
Kyle was a noble young man and 23 years and 2 days old. He leaves an aged father and mother, four sisters and two brothers and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his departure from this life. Kyle had served three years in the standing army in foreign service. He was an interesting talker and made friends wherever he went. He was a lover of church work, a good singer and organist. He will be missed by our Sunday School this season very much, as he was our secretary last year and was most always present.
We pray God's blessing on the dear old mother, for who will miss him more than she will - her baby boy.
