Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home. The Rev. Levene O. Shattuck, pastor of the Faith Baptist Church of Sterling, officiated. Cremation followed.
Mrs. Cotes was born Aug. 28, 1909 in Cherokee, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Carrie May (Gilroy) Goff. She was united in marriage to Donald Cotes in July of 1946. He preceded her in death. She had served in the Army WAACS during World War II.
She is survived by one adopted son, Steven Cotes, Dixon; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Meyers, Coleta and Miss Fern Goff, Sterling and two brothers, Francis Goff, Sterling and Richard Goff, Rock Falls.
