Mary Hester Wagner was the daughter of Jacob Wagner and Elizabeth Minier. She married Benjamin S. Merrell in Columbia County, Pennsylvania on July 31, 1818. They were the parents of 4 sons and three daughters named as follows:
William Stanley Merrill
Caroline Matilda "Tillie" Merrell
Jesse Wagner Merrill
Hester Elizabeth Merrill (married Charles Sterner)
Clark Merrell
Mary Catherine Merrill (married Nathan Bittenbender)
and John Rosenberry Merrell.
