Mary Jo was born July 23, 1925 in Buda, Texas, the youngest daughter of Carl and Verna Blackwell.
On August 29, 1942 she married James David Malone who survives her along with their beloved puppy and constant companion Babe. James was a loyal and devoted husband for nearly 70 years. Mary Jo was credit manager and valued employee of Kruger's Jewelers for 31 years.
Survivors also include her daughter, Jimmye Malone, son and daughter-in-law David and Diane Malone, daughter and son-in-law Molly and Hayden Denham. She is also survived by her grandchildren Darrin Ruiz, Tammi Casey and husband Brent, Brian Malone, Melanie Malone, Dena Madeley and husband Marc, and Shawn Denham and wife Gretchen. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Hanna Ruiz, Breydan and Peyton Madeley, and Alaina and Luke Denham. She loved her great-grandkids with a passion and always had "a little extra spending money" to give them. She is also survived by niece Nancy and husband Richard Harrison, and nephew Michael Barnes.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Kinney Avenue Christian Fellowship with interment at Austin Memorial Park. Dr. Ken Baldwin will officiate.
