Stella Catherine Mika, 97, of 4007 North 3rd, Eddyville died at 7:22 at her home.

She was born May 29, 1896 in Oklahoma to William and Eva Fuller Bain. She married Elmer Henry Mika on June 4, 1919 in Albia. They farmed in Kansas early in life moving to Iowa in the 1920's. They farmed in Albia and Eddyville area until retirement in 1960, where she lived out the rest of her life. She was a member of the Eddyville United Methodist Church and Church Womens Society.

She is survived by one son, Delmer Mervin and his wife Rosalie of Indianola; 4 daughters and son-in-laws -Mrs. Charles (Lavina) Kelsey of Trenton, Missouri, Mrs. Jim (Wanda) Glentzer of Pleasantville, Mrs. Warren (Evelyn) McBurney of Cedar, and Mrs. Glenn (Mildred) Patrick of Eddyville; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Nellie Visser of Oskaloosa; and one brother, Clarence Bain of Cumming.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one grandson Rodney Patrick; 2 great grandchildren, Andrew McBurney and Christopher Rychener.

The service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct 20, 1993, at United Methodist Church in Eddyville. The Rev. Gary McDonough officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetary in Eddyville.

Pallbearers were Gary Kelsey, Bill Kelsey, Kenneth Mika, Rusty Burson, Gary McBurney, Terry McBurney, and Calvin Rychener.

Family visitation was held on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1993 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Eddyville Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to her Church or Eddyville Rescue.
