Henry Whitney Cleveland, a brother of Mrs. Emma Wood, of this place, died in Louisville on Wednesday afternoon, after an illness of a few days. For years he was editor of one of the leading newspapers of the South, and later was editor of Appleton's Journal in New York. He was an intimate friend of Alexander H. Stephens and wrote the life of that distinguished gentleman, besides doing much other literary work for such publications as the Atlantic Monthly and Harper's publications.
