Sidney Ernest "Jerry" Killian was born near Ft. Lawn, South Carolina; his parents were of the prominent South Carolina Killian family and a descendant of Pioneer Andreas Kilian.

Served in the US Infantry as SGT in the South Pacific, WWII. A finer, more loyal gentleman, husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather could never be found.

Benton Courier obituary: Sidney E. "Jerry" Killian, 86, of Little Rock died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at his home.

He was born April 28, 1918, in Fort Lawn, S.C., to Eston Neville and Mattie Catherine Turner Killian.

Mr. Killian was retired from Reynolds Metals Co., an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Benton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Marie "Sue" Killian.

Survivors include a son, Bill of Little Rock; a daughter, Janet of Bocsa, Romania; four grandchildren, Ruth, Jennifer, Anna, and Robert; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
