Audrey's first marriage, to Loyd Massey in 1932, ended in divorce. Audrey had a long career as an elementary school teacher in Vancouver, Washington. After the end of World War II, she taught children of US soldiers stationed in Japan, Ethiopia and in Berchtesgaden, Germany where she served as principal. After remaining single for many years, Audrey married Carl Panek on May 5, 1967 in Vancouver, Washington. They enjoyed a long happy marriage spending winters in the desert and traveling the world, something Audrey continued to enjoy after she was widowed. There were no children by either marriage.
