Darrel Wilbur Weiher was born on April 5, 1928 in Bertha, to Henry and Grace (Dorman) Weiher, left this world for a better land, July 6, 2012. Married to Josephine Ann Lehmkuhl on June 24, 1950, Darrel and Josephine were blessed with a large family: Dwayne (Joyce Heltemes) of Bemidji, Mary (Jerry Hannah) of Bemidji, Michael (Carol Heltemes) of Carmel, IN, Deb (Terry Denny) of Sebeka, Randy (Berni Halaas) of Sauk Rapids, Jeff (Tammy Dykhoff) of Farmington, Karen (Dirk) Thompson of Baxter, and Kevin. Darrel was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Grace; son Kevin; great-grandson Aeidan, brothers Chester and Robert; and sisters Mildred, Cordellia, Carol, Florence, Ardys, Arlene and Helen. Darrel was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Wadena and served on the Board of Trustees. His hobbies included a passion for woodworking, spending time with his kids and grandkids, watching John Wayne western movies, traveling, and fishing. A carpenter and the son of a carpenter, his strong work ethic continues on through his descendants today. Love of family, work and travel have impacted friends and family alike. Darrel leaves a loving wife, seven children, 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed, but we rejoice in his home-going. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Wadena, with Pastor Stephen Meltzer presiding. Honorary pallbearers all his grandchildren . Pallbearers were Keith Weiher, Michael Weiher, Joshua Beberg, Matthew Denny, Jeanie Hall, and Terry Denny. Burial was in Wadena Cemetery.
