Harold W. Emrick, age 83, of Toledo, passed away Saturday August 28, 2004 at his daughter's cottage in Warsaw, IN, surrounded by his family.

Harold was a U.S. Navy Veteran, who served during WWII. He was a graduate of the University Of Toledo School Of Engineering. While participating in the orchestra, he met the love of his life, Margaret Seavolt, who shared his affinity for the violin. Together, they celebrated 58 years. For 40 years, the family resided in the Akron area where Harold built a home for them. He will be remembered in the Akron area for becoming the first male Girl Scout Leader.

In 1985, he returned to the Toledo area to be closer to his family. In his 50's, Harold took up downhill skiing, long- distance biking, horseback riding and golf. He was employed by the Goodyear Company as an electrical engineer and later retired from the Hoover Company as an environmental control manager. He was an active member of the Hope Lutheran Church.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, in 2002. Left to cherish his memory are his children, James Wesley (Sara) Emrick, Joan (Timothy) Kreps and Judy (Jim) Galliers, all of Toledo; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grand children; and brother, George (Barbara) Emrick.

The family will receive friends at Hope Lutheran Church, 2201 Secor Road, Toledo on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral ceremony begins at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Peter Rose- Kamprath officiating. Entombment will be at 3 p.m. at Toledo Memorial Park. The family suggests contributions in Harold's memory be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or Hope Lutheran Church.
