He was born on August 17, 1950, in Beloit to Ransom and Agnes (Peterson) Bartelt. He had worked at the shelter workshop in Richland Center. He really enjoyed going fishing with his dad and also deer hunting.
He is survived by his mother, Agnes Bartelt of Richland Center; two sisters, Barbara (Clifford) Dunaway of Excello, Missouri and June Straight of Richland Center; four brothers, Robert Bartelt of Richland Center, Warren (Susan) Bartelt of Eau Claire, Wayne Bartelt of Taylor and Randy (Ramona) Bartelt of Elk Mound; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Violet Lucas
Funeral services were held on Monday, December 18, 2006, at the Thorson Reetz-Funeral Home in Viroqua with Pastor Pete Beckstrand officiating. Burial was in the Viroqua Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Randy Bartelt, Warren Bartelt, Clifford Dunaway, Sarah Bartelt and Sandra Bartelt.
