Robert Wyne Spicher, 56, retired captain from the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy, died in Hingham on Friday, June 13.
Capt. Spicher was born in Eureka March 28, 1919, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Spicher. A graduate of the University of Montana at Missoula, he received his medical degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and practiced medicine in Terry and in Havre before entering the U.S. Navy about the time of the Korean war.
For the last 10 years, Capt. Spicher was in Florida, around Pensacola. He retired from the Navy in 1972. On August 5, 1972, in Glenn Ellen, Illinois, he married the former Bridget Healy. She survives him. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Diane Schwartz, Cleveland, Ohio; a son, Robert Gale, Concord, California; a sister, Mrs. Fern Flanagan, Helena; and a brother, Clement of Missoula, George of Spokane, Washington, and Richard of Hingham. His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services were in Our Lady of Ransom Catholic church in Hingham on Tuesday, June 17, at 2 p.m. BurIal was in the Highland cemetery.
