Abby died of diptheria at age 1 year 3 months and 2 days. The death certificate names her father as Zack Whitesides, and her mother as Nettie Colwell, both born in North Carolina. She was interred on February 22, 1909, with Holzheimer & Bock Funeral Home acting as undertakers. In March of 1927 she was removed from Range 12 to Range 13 with John Whiteside.
