She was born Sept. 21, 1947, in Washington County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert R. and Florice E. Allen Bailey. She was a 1965 graduate of Warren High School and had been active in the booster club in the past. She had been co-owner of Johnson Auto Repair in Belpre, had been assistant manager at Goodyear Tire and worked for Bob's Market in Belpre.
Survivors include her two sons, Darren (Janet) Johnson of Dunbar, W.Va., and Matthew Johnson of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Austin, Katelyn and Alondra Johnson; her companion for many years, Bob Root and his children, Natalie Snyder (Jonathan and Stephanie) and Angela (Dr. Terry) Shank (Daniel, Huntar, Chase and Sophia); four brothers, Charles Bailey of Belpre, Eugene Bailey of North Carolina, James Bailey and Rick Bailey, both of Florida; a sister, Janet Waggoner of Belpre; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Donna Adams.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with Pastor Tim Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Barlow Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and up to service time Thursday at the funeral home.
