Originally interred in The First Lutheran Burying Ground of Carlisle, PA, (s. Hanover St and Chestnut Ave), and reinterred in Old Graveyard in the Church Plot in the southeast corner in 1891. (source: Inscriptions of Those Originally Interred by Mrs Guiles Flower of Carlisle).
Transcription in that report:
Sacred to the memory of Elizabeth, wife of Conrad Eckert, who departed this life the 31st day of August, A.D. 1823, aged 34 years, 9 months and 1 day.
Elizabeth is listed in the transcription of Carlisle's Old Graveyard, but there appears to be a problem with the recording of her headstone. The transcription indicates that she died 28 May 1840, age about 68 years, but that is the age & date of death for her husband Dr. Conrad Eckert. Offering further support for her death in 1823, the book "Biographical Annals of Cumberland County", pg. 2, shows Elizabeth Zeigler, wife of Dr. Conrad Eckert, died in August of 1823, in the 35th year of her age.
