JOHN MCCLUNG PASSES AWAY

EARLY SETTLER OF WAPELLO COUNTY DIES AT HIS HOME IN DAHLONEGA


Born in the State of Indiana in the Year of 1845-Member of the First Christian Church and the Masons-Funeral Tomorrow Morning.


John S. McClung, one of Wapello County's most highly respected residents, passed away Saturday evening at 9:30 o'clock at his home in Dahlonega.


Mr. McClung was 62 years and 11 months old at the time of his death and is survived by his wife and two children. The children are Ralph McClung, who lives in the state of Washington, and Mrs. Maud Knopp, who resides in Gunnison County, Colo.


The funeral services over the remains will be held tomorrow morning at 10:30 o'clock from the late residence. Rev. C.E. Chambers, pastor of the Davis Street Christian Church, will have charge of the services. Interment will be made in the Ottumwa Cemetery.

John S. McClung was born in Indiana January 24, 1845, and moved to this state when a young man. He has resided in Wapello County for the greater part of his life. He was a member of the First Christian Church of this city and a member of the local Masonic Lodge No. 61.
