ADAM DIEDRICH CLAIMED BY DEATH
Another of the sturdy pioneers of this section of Wisconsin died at the home of his son-in-law, Henry Steffes, adjacent to this city, on the Stoney Brook road, on Tuesday, December 16, 1913, at the age of 63 years.
The deceased was born in Germany, February 23, 1851, and came to America with his parents in 1868 and located in the town of Brothertown, near the village of Charlesburg. He aided his parents on the farm and also worked for his neighbors and in the early seventies worked in this city for a time.

In 1879 he went to St. Cloud where he was married in 1880 to Miss Anna Daun and the following year he and his bride moved to Marytown where they resided until 1893 when they moved to Jericho, making their home there until 1898 when they purchased what is known as the Matthew farm, now a part of the village of Stockbridge. They remained on the latter farm until 1912 when they gave over the management of the same to their sons and moved to Chilton, residing in Loughrin cottage on State street until some two months ago when he and his wife went to live with their daughter, Mrs. Henry Steffes. Some three years ago his health began to fail, the result of an attack of diabetes, and during the past summer he was quite ill but revived and hope was had that he might remain longer with his family.

Adam Diedrich was a man held in high esteem by all who knew him. He was devoted to this wife and family, kind and obliging to his neighbors and friends and true to the religious teaching of his boyhood, being always a devout and regular attendant of the Catholic Church until ill healt prevented his attending.

He is survived by his widow, five sons, Jacob, Peter, Math, of Stockbridge, Joseph and Will of this city and three daughters, Mrs. Michael Schmidkofer and Mrs. Henry Steffes of Chilton, and Mrs. Edw Schumacher of Calumetville. Also three brothers, Math and Jos. Of St. Cloud and M. J. of Eden, Fond du Lac County.
