Mrs. John W. Mahnke, 79, of Manitowoc died Sunday night at Toth Nursing Home,
Chilton.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First German Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. M. W. Koch officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery.
Mrs. Mahnke was born Clara Bartz Dec. 27, 1888 in the Town of Rockland, daughter
of the late August and Marie Zahn Bartz. She was married to John W. Mahnke
June 18, 1907, and the couple farmed in the Town of Rockland. Her husband died
July 10, 1966.
Survivors include two sons, Roland Sr., of Reedsville and Marcus, of Manitowoc,
a sister, Mrs. Herbert (Lydia) Brandenburg, four grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Reedsville Funeral Home until 10 a.m.
Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of services at the church.
