DONA GESELL

Dona L. Gesell, age 80, of 2012 34th St., Two Rivers, entered eternal life on
Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Dona was born on Jan. 26, 1929, at Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late
Adolph and Gertrude Schmidtman Gesell. Dona was a graduate of Lincoln High
School with the class of 1947. She continued her education at the McMurray
College for Women, Jacksonville, Ill. where she received her degree in education.
She taught physical education at the high school level at various schools within
the state of Wisconsin. In 1988 Dona moved to Two Rivers where she operated
Heirlooms From the Sisters for 18 years. She was a member of the Two Rivers
Historical Society.
She is survived by two nieces: Robin (Jeff) Bryant Stoeger, Manitowoc; Kim Czekala,
Granite City, Ill.; two nephews: David Severson, Wyndmere, N. D.; Mark Severson,
Larson; special friend: Lisha Vanevenhoven, Appleton; along with other relatives
and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister: Pat Severson.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at the Harrigan
Parkside Funeral Home with the Rev. Meredith Thurk officiating. Cremation will have
taken place with burial of the cremated remains to be at Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc, on Saturday morning privately for the family. Relatives and friends may
call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Friday, from 4 p.m. until the time of
services at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to the Lakeshore Humane
Society.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets,
Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
