Mrs. Edmond J. Ryan, 88, of Waterville
Waterville - Mrs. Margaret G. Ryan, 88, widow of Edmond J. Ryan, died at her home on Tower Ave. Feb. 8, 1955. She had been in failing health for some time but her death was unexpected.
She was born in the Town of Sangerfield on July 19, 1866, daughter of Edward and Johanna Teefy Gibbons. When she was an infant the family moved to the Town of Marshall. Mrs. Ryan learned the dressmaking trade, which she followed for 53 years.
She was married to Mr. Ryan in Waterville on Jan. 16, 1839 [type unclear]. They lived in Waterville until 1906, when they purchased a farm at Forge Hollow. In 1915 they sold the farm and returned to Waterville. Mr. Ryan died in 1942. Mrs. Ryan was a member of St. Bernard's Church and of its Rosary Society. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Adelaide G. Waterman, Waterville; a brother, Fred J. Gibbons, Sauquoit, and nieces and nephews.
