Ramón A."Marro" Chávez, a resident of El Cerro, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 1998.
Ramón was born on September 23, 1936.
Marro was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, NM. Marro was retired from Duke City Bumper Supply in Albuquerque after 28 years of service.
Marro was preceded in death by his parents, Estacio and María Chávez and his brother, Florian Chávez.
Marro is survived by his wife, Josie D. Chávez of the family home in El Cerro, children, Joseph and his wife, Cathy, Elaine García, Yvonne Jones and her husband, Keith, Celedon and his wife, Debbie, RoseAnn Chávez and Ramona Franklin and her husband, Curtis. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ray Chávez and his wife, Lisa, Yvette and Wayne, Anthony Chávez, Evangeline García, Theresa Gurulé, Elizabeth Chávez, Lawrence Chávez, Dolores Gurulé, Eileen Chávez, Crystal Chávez, Olivia Chávez, little Anthony Chávez, Madeline Chávez and Antoinette Chávez and one great-grandchild, Gabriel E. Salazar. Marro is also survived by his brothers, Clovis Chávez of Tomé and Tony Chávez of Valencia, sisters, Ruth Copper of Nevada, Mary Jaramillo, Erlinda Sánchez and Carmen O'Down, all of Albuquerque and Betty Spangler of El Cerro.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., at the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church in Valencia. Rosary will follow at 7:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., also at the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymond Chávez, Anthony Chávez, Lawrence Chávez, Wayne Salazar, Daniel García and Ronnie Chávez.
