Mamie B. Shumpert, 80, of Memphis, homemaker, died of heart failure Wednesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Funeral Home East with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery East. She was a member of Raleigh Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Shumpert, the widow of James H. Shumpert, leaves a daughter, Beverly Kessler of Bartlett; a son, John M. Shumpert of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; a sister, Polly Bowen of Arkabutla, Miss., nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to The American Diabetes Association.
