Florence was a hard- working independent woman, who was ahead of her time. In her younger years, she joined the war effort and worked in the factories that helped produce the WWII planes. She also lived in San Antonio, where she met her future husband. They were married on November 4th, 1950, in Georgia. After her husband retired from the Air Force, they eventually settled in DeRidder in 1969 to be close to her family which was so important to her.
Anyone who knew Florence was aware of her passion for her yard and garden, and all her flowers. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved her church, friends, family and just generally "getting the job done".
