Mr. Taylor was a member and deacon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was a graduate of University of Georgia with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. His hobbies include playing in a bluegrass band and restoring classic Chris Craft boats. He also had a pilot license and enjoyed recreational flying. Mr. Taylor was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII. He was a Corporal in the European Theater and earned two bronze stars. Mr. Taylor was predeceased by his wife, Gloria Dye Taylor and his son, Charles "Mac" Taylor.
Survivors include his son, William G. Taylor, III of Macon; daughter, Jennifer Taylor McCafferty of Tampa, FL; grandchild, Will Taylor, IV of Macon; brother, Guy Taylor of Augusta; and sister, Esther Faulk of Macon.
