Mrs. Erline Godwin Young, 98, was born in Mitchell County, Georgia the fifth child of the late Thomas H. and Sarah McClellan Godwin. She grew up in the rural area of southwest Georgia where she met and married the late P.A. Young. During the war years they moved to Brunswick, Georgia where Erline became an active member of Norwich Street Baptist Church. After her husband's death in 1968, she moved to Waycross to make her home with her niece, Joann Godwin Crosby and her family.

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her four brothers, Clifford Godwin, Van Godwin, Byron Irvin "Butch" Godwin and Curtis H. Godwin and by one sister, Valda G. Croft.

She was a member of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class at Central Baptist Church in Waycross where she attended faithfully as long as she was able. She was a charter member of the Merry Makers and enjoyed the trips, activities and fellowship with her Merry Maker friends.

Survivors include one brother, William Godwin and numerous nieces and nephews. Her numerous nieces and nephews were her children.
