Mr. B. I. (Butch) Godwin

Mr. B. I. (Butch) Godwin, 88, died Wednesday (8-2-00) at his residence in Waycross after a brief illness. Mr. Godwin died peacefully at his home surrounded by loving family members and friends.

Mr. Godwin, a sixty-year resident of Waycross, was a veteran of World War II (U.S. Navy), a retired yardmaster for the ACLCSX Railroad, and a member of the Mens Bible Class at Central Baptist Church.

He is the son of the late Thomas H. Godwin and Sarah McClelland Godwin. He is the husband of the late Imogene Pilkinton Godwin.

Mr. Godwin is survived by 2 Daughters: Jeanne Godwin and Joann Crosby both of Waycross, GA; 1 Son: Byron I. Godwin, Jr. of Bainbridge, GA; 1 Sister: Erline Young of Waycross, GA; 2 Brothers: Curtis H. Godwin of Lexington, SC, and William B. Godwin of New Port Richey, FL; 12 Grandchildren and 25 Great Grandchildren.

A service will be held 2 PM Saturday (8-5-00) Chapel of Music Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday night at Music Funeral Home from 7 to 9 PM. The family requests in lieu of flowers to Hospice Satilla, 1921 Alice St., Suite 1A, Waycross, GA 31501.
