Charlotte is my husband's gg-grandmother through her marriage to her third and last husband, William Anderson Bagby and their daughter Ella Jane Bagby - my husband's g-grandmother.
Charlotte was born 26 Januay 1823 to Benjamin Jarrott Vaughan and Elizabeth Jackson - my husband's ggg-grandparents. Charlotte was the 4th of 9 children.
Charlotte first married Hosea Potts on May 27, 1839 in White County Illinois and had three children:
(1) Monroe J. Potts (1842-1918);
(2) Alice Catherine Potts Harper (1843-1918) and
(3) Sarah A. Potts (1847-1876.
Hosea Potts died June 3, 1847.
Charlotte then married her second husband 7 months later: Joseph Bowers Pearce on 21 October 1847 in White County Illinois, and had three more children:
(1) Barron DeKalb Pearce (1849-1917);
(2) Alfred William Pearce (1854-1904); and
(3) Joseph Ebenezer Pearce (1856-1925).
Joseph Pearce died July 9, 1856.
Charlotte then married her third and last husband four years later: William Anderson Bagby on 18 December 1860 in White County, Illinois. (My husband's gg-grandfather). From this marriage Charlotte had three more children:
(1) Benjamin Anderson Bagby (1861-1948);
(2) Ella Jane Bagby Wood (1863-1939) (my husband's g-grandmother) and
(3) Lovina Delila Bagby Edwards (1865-1928).
Charlotte died at the age of 58 on December 13, 1881 in White County, Illinois, leaving her husband, William Anderson Bagby - who married again after her death in 1884.
